1st - Carlos Bocanegra bails out the US with a header in the 68th minute to beat Honduras 2-1... this after Dempsey gives up the ball in the 4th minutes as he is dribbling in circles at midfield,,, and get picked clean,,, and the USA is down 1 - nill before you can get into your seat !! then a Donovan PK in the 43rd Minute off a hand ball by Honduras,,,-there should have been a penalty earlier, but the REF missed it ... any way Donovan nailed the upper left for a gaol, and then Bocanegra scores off his corner in the 2nd half,,,, USA now a bit more comfortable in making the 2010 World Cup... Mexico is next on August 12th at the Azteca .,,, Mexico will be desperate for a win , so that will be no easy Match,.... hopefully Frankie Heduk will be back I think they miss him as moving the Ball up from the Back thru the midfield seemed Painful last night....
2nd - Mariano blows up in the ninth inning giving the RAYS a win.,.,, UGH,,,, and is Tex hot or what ,,, batting like 290,,, 17 homers, 50 RBI's and OBP is nearing 400.,... and he is like flawless ,,, Reminds me of a guy with the number 23 on his back !!
3rd - IF what I saw this morning on Sports Center - and I hope I did not,,,, was David Ortiz takin a curtain call after hitting a line drive inside the Foul (fair) ole for his 2nd home run,,, that made the score 5 to nothing,, and BTW BLESTER was pitching perfect game a that point,,, Come on ,,, a Curtain call ?!?! embarrassing for David Ortiz, even thought he is a REDSOX,, I think he, and the team , and the fans have handled his "SLUMP" with class,,, and He is well past the SLUMP part at this point. A Curtain CALL ?!?!? it was not a walk off or a homer to get the lead,, it made it 5 to nuttin ! a Curtain CALL ?!?!?!
