Bob died of Cancer that started from an injury to a toe , however, his religion prohibited him from having that toe amputated, and the Cancer eventually Spread to his stomach and Brain. His last appearance was late in 1980 and he passed in 1981. His influence in bringing Reggae Music to the forefront remains evident today in the recordings of U2, Pearl Jam, John Hall and many others. he was inducted into the Rock and Roll HOF in 1994, and Exodus was chosen by TIME magazine as the Best Album of the 20th century.
