A Hooker ??

The Band starts to play,,, even before the curtain rises,,,,, you hear them ,,,,,,,,,, ,,, that blues rift,,, that heavy bass sound,,,, the Curtain goes,.... the band is Drums, Piano, Guitar, Bass, Sax, and Harp,.... and there is a Metal folding chair in at Center Stage,, a Huge guitar , and a Microphone... about 5 minutes of this instrumental,,, and a black man steps thru the door at the back of the stage,,,, makes his way past the Sax player, and sits down in the Metal folding chair,,,, he is dressed in a Light Brown suit and sports a white hat, and Sun Glasses,...,, he looks like he is 90 ..... Clearly weather beaten, and roughed up from life , and maybe life on the Road..

and when he picks up that guitar and plays,,, whoa !! and the Voice that comes outta him,,, he starts with BOOM BOOM,,, and the nights goes on from there,,,,, I had the privilege of seeing John-Lee at the Chance many years ago,,, He played to a full house that night, as all those Blues Artists did back in that day,,,say mid to late 70's,,,I guess it was all us Young white guys that loved that music,,,,

John-Lee became a more popular figure years later with an album called THE HEALER,,, this is another one you should add to your collection,,, he teams up with Carlos Santana on the Title track, and Bonnie Raitt on another,,, and Canned heat,,, and anyway go get the CD ... For now enjoy these 2 from John-Lee Hooker !
