While I did not think it was possible to lose a 15 game lead in the AL east - I am now wondering when it happen.
At the all Star break the Yankees held the best record in baseball.... now they are 8 games ahead of Toronto,,,, 3.5 back of Houston for the best AL record and WAY back of Dodgers for the Best in MLB..
They have like a 5 - 12 record in August,,, and have been shut out 5 times, and 8 times have scored less than 2 runs..... Now this has to end... or it will be the biggest collapse in franchise history...
And if you are thinking that the schedule will get easier,, and they can go back to beating up bad teams .. or teams that have nothing to play for - think again !
2 more against Toronto
2 against the Mets - and guess who is pitching for the Mets ?? Scherzer against German on Monday, and deGrom against Montas on Tuesday. so get ready for 2 more losses... and maybe 2 more shutouts ! plus about a million K's !
4 in Oakland - ok the A's stink - so that should help...
3 in LA - .vs the Angels... they are so - so -
then to Tampa for 3 games, - the Rays are 9 back - right now... and need to win to keep themselves in the Wild Card race,,,
This line up should be able to produce some offense - yea they need Stanton back, Carpenter probably not back till either way late September (if at all!) and Bader - Mid September - so they pretty much have the Team that they are gonna have.....
