On (the) LINE ?

1st things 1st,,... Back in the day as they say,,, they say a lot, huh,, anyway,,, there were 3 Baseball teams in New York,, 2 have since left, and one has arrived ,,, but in 1951 the Dodgers and the Giants still played in NY at the Polo Grounds (Giants) actually in Manhattan , and Ebbets Field in Brooklyn - obviously the Home of the Dodgers. These teams HATED each other,,, and in 1951 Bobby Thompson hit perhaps the sport's most famous home run, connecting off Ralph Branca for a three-run drive in the bottom of the ninth inning that sent the New York Giants over the Brooklyn Dodgers in the decisive Game 3 of their National League playoff. The drive into the left-field stands at the Polo Grounds and broadcaster Russ Hodges' ecstatic declaration -- four times shouting "the Giants win the pennant!" -- remain one of the signature moments in major league history. Bobby Thompson passed away on Monday night at the age of 86..So RIP Bobby , and thanks for the Memory !





Ok,, "I am ON-LINE" ON LINE ??? Hey are you on line ?? What?, like at the Movies on line?? This On line thing is new,,, but everyone seems to know what it means,,, Back more than a few years ago,, "On line" Well Maybe your Laundry was on THE line .. Drying out,,, or HEY - I'm on the line .. you would say that to the other person that picked up the Phone If you had a "Party Line" and don't get me started with what that was,,, Then we were on-line for Many things,,, Bread lines, Movies lines , Lines at the Grocery store,,, Hook , LINE and Sinker ,, THE LINE -Up,, On line Dating, and maybe there is no LINE at all,,, if you are Wireless is that still ONLINE ??? I hear, oh, I did this or that "ONLINE",,, and I guess I am ONLINE RIGHT now,,,, oh well - I gotta get "off line". Later,,,
