Sunday at the Reservoir

Greetings,,,, Just updating with a few pictures from Sunday the Ashokan,,, I guess I better keep my day job,, cause I was not ready when the Eagles flew ,,, right over our heads,... I did get these of the Nest and a far off shot of them fishing from a tree...


Here is a fuzzy shot of the 2 Eagles fishing from a tree across the water from Reservoir road,.. The one clearly visible, and the other is an inch to the right and up .

Are 3 heads betterthan ONE ??

Hey hey,,, HEY !

Mary Fahl was just great at the Crier last night,,, she played alone,,, no band,, just her,, and two Guitars,, one she did not even play.  Started with the "Other Side of Time" followed by a few October Project tune, and a few new ones,, she played Bury my Lovely, and Lenses of Contact, and a song for Haiti, EYES of Mercy, and she sang - Some enchanted Evening,,,,Going home, and Dawning of the day (with her 9/11 dedication lyrics), Ben Aindi Habibi,  The Encore was new song - I am guessing at a title of Everything will be alright, and then she finished with Una furtiva lagrima..... Outstanding stuff,,, Meal was good,, at least mine,, service was horrendous,,,


Back to Ashokan on Sunday,,, One Eagle soared right over our heads,,, very close,,, if I was ready with the Camera - I could have gotten a great shot,, BUT NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO....... then  2 Eagles in a tree just across the reservoir,,, very seeable with my  binoculars,,, but I will need a big zoom lens to get pix of them over there.,....  one then came out of the  tree gliding down across the Ice and headed down the Reservoir,,,, an excellent day,,,, seeing the  two eagles really made the day !! Plus a really big Red Tail !! 

Big week,,, lots of work to do at work, and the Daughter arrives at home on Wednesday,,, so  busy, busy, busy,,, oh , and the Rock-man !

  

Saturday - blah

Probably says it all.... just a blah day ,,, got my 5 miles in,... really cold at 6am... woof - like 9 Degrees.... nice and cool...........  it's better than bugs ! Hey listen,, did I tell ya  I am goin to see my Girl Friend tonight ???  I betcha  I didn't....  Really , I am,,, 'cept I am bringing my Wife !!  OMG ! Any way Mary Fahl at teh Town Crier, have  not seen or heard Mary in a long time.... so I am hoping it will be a good night,, a Little Dinner, and a little music .............

Between now and then ... I can only guess.... OH,, remember that it's Valentine's day tomorrow,.... so get your Sweetheart something nice,,,, After 31  years we are stuck at Hallmark Cards..

Stopping and shopping for the weekly Groceries... and now that I have the afternoon free,, I was goin to EFK to meet up with the Management team.... I am cookin Pasta and Cleaning the Carpet on the stairs..... Just for an added bonus , someone - and I mean a Cat,.. Puked on my shoe ! Thanks a lot...  and oh , to the A$$ Hole that drove across my lawn,,, looks like they used it for a U turn,,, I am going out to put up some sticks,... so nex time , I will be able to tell it was YOUR car cause it will have 4 FLAT FRIGGIN TIRES !!! Bastard..

Today's agenda,,, not sure,, Building a suet feeder for the Birds,,, that will take an hour,,, cleaning, and dry shampooing the Carpet on the stairs , although that's a waste of time - it will be cat haired by tomorrow morning,,,  Pasta dinner, gotta get some bu-matoes,,, and cereal.,. not to eat together,,, and I guess , I am just playing along the rest of the day,,,,  

I will give you this on a random day here in February,,, from a person associated with comedy... true, heartfelt, words ,,, not to be taken lightly.,..  bet you never say these words again without thinkin of this !

And even though I sucked at the over all plan for the Day,,,, I did get my Gas grill Really Repaired - for real this time,,, you would not believe how small an opening a spider , or something can get to spin a nest !!

A tale of TWO half days.....

I guess I am not sure what the blogging is all about,, really,, I seeothers with far more meanining than this mess, and a single subject,,,, plerhaps this just allows me to dum the crap in my head somewhere,,,  It'
s like a good friend to listen to what you have to say without comment or critiqure.... 

Tuesday,,,, Dentist Appt at 11AM,,, and I have not been in two years ! So this is goona hurt!!   and the threat of a snow storm Wednesday... great ,., just great !

Monday - great 1st half,,,, 4 degrees at 5am... so . off to the GYM.... 2 hr workout on this fat body,,,, and then - wait - Breakfast at home !!  I know WTF ?!?!?!  but you will see why....

My mission was a trip to Ashokan and an attempt to see  few eagles..... With Garmon on the DASH... off I go... This damn this takes the shortest route,,,even of that means every back road, and near dirt road thru Hurley, and Olie to get there,... Ok,, I know I could have gone on rt 28A - but what fun is that !!   Arriving at the far end of Monument Road ,,, that is CLosed to Vehicle traffic since 9/11... hey if "they" take out Reservoir road,,, you can drive from on side of the REs to the other,,,, if they take out Monumnet road,,, not only will you ahve quite the FLOOD downstream,,, you could effectively EMPTY the Reservoir !!!  So ,, its closed,,, Only FEET and Bikes allowed,,, so off I go,,, across the road to toward the Eagles ,,, I see a Red Taill, and a few Deer,,, and  two guys workin on installation of  concrete like telephone poles,... Its really bright, and clear air,,, listen ,, if you are worried about concrete talkin over the world.. go for a walk up there,,,, lots of Mountains, and woods,...  Down around the corner,,, I know where the Nest is,,, but no Birds.... I stop and talk tot the Real photo guys near the Other end of the Road , near the aireator pool... they infirm me that the Eagles flew dow to the other end of the Reservoir ,, and wer Fishing at the Open water down there,, they were hangin out waiting for them to maybe bring a catch back to the nest,..... but that the routine lately has been to stay down there most of the day.... ahh welll, I hang for an hour,,, and head back to the Car,.....   hummmm Where to have Lunch.... PERFECT... Turkey Chili,, and a roll in the window Of Bread Alone in Woodstock !!   A bag of Inscense from Not Fade Away,,, a New shirt from the Thrift shop,,, and a quick Stop to Talk Tattoo's ... and I head home,,, picking up cat Food,,,  Now things are goin down hill.....  

I get my Estimater back from the MONEY SMART folks on my Retirement calculations,,, oh man,,,  So without draggin you thru the ugly details,,, I either need to work till I am 68 or lie on a whole lot less than I planned to....  What Is hard to swallow is that After 30 years of service a company would expect that an employee could live on  about 18% of their present salary in retirement,,,, and today with the thinkin being 75-80 % of your income in retirement,, that most people could somehow the hell or other save the other 60 % on their own,,,,,

The new Background Photo is at the Tween Waters Marina on Captiva island,,,  If you have never been ,,, it is one of the Most beautiful places on this earth.

it is located as it indicates beTWEEN Sanibel and Captiva islands off the West Cost of Florida,...

Eagle hunting -

all right.,.,.. relax,,, hunting with my Sony A3,,,, ,,headed to Ashokan ,, with a stop at my Fav place ,,,, The Woodstock Bread Alone,,, and then Tattoo shop ,, to check out my next Tat !!

But listen,,I hear there are a pair of nesting adults,,and perhaps the 2  youngsters from last years brood, hanging near the Spillway,,, They closed that road after the attacks on 9-11... and you have to walk over a mile to get to the point,,  so I am going to check it out, I will certainly post the pictures.

I see the Eagles,,, at Norrie at times, He used to perch in the big ole dead tree up near tha Cabins,,, but since that fell down a year ago,, they hang on the Island South of Norrie,,, and that's madway far,,with my Cheapo Binoculars.

What's the Deal ? .... there's no DEAL Sporto ...

so,,, Listen - A) I can't tell a thing from that angle... maybe you can take another, and we will see who is right !

Joey went to his forever home,,, the biggest, sweetest - long timer at the shelter went home last night,,, He was ADOPTED !! We had Joey at several Outreach opprorunities,,, and   he was the most loveable dog ever,,, He would want to sit in your lap in the chair,, and was a shining example of not judging the book by the cover.  This dog had the biggest Head I ever saw on a dog,, the pix does not do it justice.,.. Everyone thought oh,,,, he looks like a pit bull,,, oh yea,,, he was a killer,,,  no way ! Just a big MUSH !!  Any way good luck to Joey,,, outta that cage, and off to a Great Home !!  and I could just see it in his eyes last night,, he KNEW something good was happening !! 

Under Attack !

Major virus today.... Think it came from an Email attachement that looked like a  Dilbert Cartoon strip,.,.. infected entire computer,,, an hour and a half will the Mcafee guy,... finallly able to find and eradicate it .... not nice,

just think what we could accomplish if all the thought and energy that went into developing this went into something positive ?!?!?!?!?

Ok, so except Don Imus,, I do not listen to much radio,,,, I have my Ipod, and I listen to that in the car,,, just put it on Shuffle and the 2000 songs play them selves out.....  SO today,, I get to the Planet Fitness,,, bout 6:45 give ot taken,,,  and theI-pod is playin "Town Called Malice" by the Jam.... from 1982,,, a perfectly forgettable Band, and Album - THE GIFT.....  but I always liked the song,.,, from 1982 mind you,....going on 28  years ago...   As I am walkin into the GYM,..,.. what song is playing on Planet Fitness radio as they call it ,,,, TOwn Called Malice,,,  I know,,, you are now a-scared !  Really whats the possibility????  OMG ,,, its 2 minutes,  and 52 seconds,,, so a little delay,or make a light, miss light,,, and it does not line up..... 

I was a bit creeped out.... If you listen close,,,, the beginning sounds like "You can't hurry Love" by the Supreems....
