Three Legged race

so the last thing that the Yankees need is a 3 way race with the Sox, and the RAYS,,, but this is where the schedule is great.... If you are gonna win,, you are gonna win playing these other teams - not KC or Pittsburgh. There are like 34 games left to go,... and the Yankees get 4 against Boston, and 7 against the Rays , a 1/3 of whats left, so that last week will probably decide who is going where and who ain't .

Mr Burnett,,, I have no idea what to say,,, just can not go 3 and 1/3 - 8 hits 8 runs,,, puts your team outta it before they even get a chance.... Mitre pitched very well though,,, so the Pen DID not get used at all... he finished the last 4.1 innings. and you have to like the chances with CC today.... so - as they say - we shall see.

a word on Strasburg,,, you have to feel bad that this happened,,, I do not thing that the Nats did anything wrong or pushed him too quick. And you truely hope he can come back,,, now - don't feel too awful bad (and yes sometime everything with me is about the DOH-REY_ME) . This kid got a $7.5 Million dollar signing bonus,,, and a Guaranteed $15 million over 4 years contract,, so 22 million, so do not feel tooo bad. so - we are right where we were last Friday,,, AKA the Yanks, and Boston Split the 4 game series,,, blah.,,,, neither team gets what it needed, or wanted,.. the Sox needed 3 of 4 to get back into this race,.. the Yankees wanted 3 of 4 to put the Sox away,.. and Blah,,, no one gets nuttin,,,,

yesterday a game of missed opportunities,,, the Sox scored early off of Hughes poor at best ,,, so many pitches,,, the Bull pen gave Boston nothing,,, the Yankees did nothing off Lester,,, so for all those asshole Yankee fans that I was standing near behind home plate yellin "LESTER SUCKS " well - he shut down the Yankees,.. so guess he don't suck that much , idiots.. then came the opportunities

Bottom of the 7th - Bases loaded no outs,,, and 3 K's !! Horrible - Granderson is not the offensive guy that they thought he was... no I am not blaming this all on him ,, but in 09 he had 30 homers , and 70 + RBIs... Right now is is 10 and 30 , HORRIBLE....

Greetings,,,,, wanna take a look at the standings on Monday AM ... I know the Bosox fans DON'T ! their dreams of a sweep at the stadium have come , and gone,,, best they can hope for is to get out the way they came in,,,, that would be 6 games out - 7 on the loss side - with 52 games to go,... so to make up 7 games,,, if NY plays .500 ball .. ie 26 wins 26 losses,.. to tie,, Boston needs to be 33 and 19... hummm, un-likely,.. but hey let's not call the race with the horses still on the track,,,

Last nights highlights,,, hey,,, Dustin Mosley,,, outstanding stuff,,, BIG PUMA 3 for 4 with an RBI,... maybe he can relax a little now... oh and I know that Prick Beckett-head would hit someone.. it was really good to see that Robinson scored,,, and MrBeckett did not make it out of that inning !! Sweet...


So today is Phil Hughes,,,, day game at the Big Stadium in the Bronx,,, look for me in my usual seat,,, Section 203 ,, r14.... middle of the Bleacher section 1/3 of the way up...

October 14th , 1976 I was sitting in the upper deck, 1st row,, right behind home plate... Chris Chambliss led off the bottom of the 9th - on Littell's 1st Pitch BTW - with a homerun that won the AL pennant for the Yankees, and sent them to the World series for the 1st time in 12 years.... That was a game I have never forgotten,,,, and the only Post Season game I have ever been to...

On August 4th, 2010 , I am seated in the Right Field Bleachers,,,, about my ususal spot - Row 14,,,, right in the Midst of the Creatures...... Bottom of the 1st,,, Jeter Singles,,, Swish watches a called 3rd strike, Tex pops out to 3rd base,,,, and here comes Alex,.... 2 fast balls inside,,,, everybody has been busting him in with Hard stuff, and throwing him curve balls away,,, I no sooner say to the guy seated next to me,,, "someone is gonna leave one of the Fastballs out over the plate and Alex is gonna crush it" .... and Boom ! Dead Center,,, #600 into Monument park... The Place went nuts,,, there was some sorta scrum in the Bleachers,,,, with people high fiveing,,, and chest bumping it was nuts,.,... Then the A-ROd ,, A-ROd chant , the Curtain call,,,, and Best of all (and the TV missed) was the standing ovation he got as he headed to 3rd base to start the 2nd inning,,,, It will be a moment that I will never forget..


Now let all the asshole's chime in with the Steroid words, tainted records, etc etc... How Alex is not the beloved figure ,, Jeter is,,. We as Americans build up our Sport and entertainment heros , far beyond what they deserve... and then Can't wait to tear them down,,, See also - Tiger Woods.. Lance Berkman - AKA BIG PUMA ,,,or FAT Elvis- should be a good addition,,, can switch hit,,,although poor from the right side,, still a real good upgrade from Collins, or Miranda,,, we will see how he does against pitchers he has not seen before.... hitting .242 with an OBP of 367... 60 walks,,,,

Austin Kearns,, ok decent enough bat, and good fielder,, hitting .272.... I would not get too excited here... even though the YES broadcast team seemed to be,,, Kearns was a bench player for the NATS last year,,, what does that tell ya !

Kerry Wood.... just off the DL.... WIP of 1.62,,, 20 innings, 21 hits,,, and 11 walks,, 18 K's,, ERA of 6.30... yikes ! I am not sure that he is better than Chamberlain in the 8th,,,, and he is not better that Dave Robertson ! at least he is an American league pitcher
