Derek Jeter came up short of being named American League Most Valuable Player (that went to Minnesota's Joe Mauer, which was richly deserved). But next to becoming a World Champion for the fifth time, the Yankees captain was bestowed sports' ultimate honor that exemplifies his accomplishments on and off the field, a recipe that defines Jeter's true essence.
Jeter has been named Sports Illustrated's Sportsman of the Year. He was chosen as the magazine's 56th honoree, becomes the first Yankee to be named SI's Sportsman and will grace the cover of the Dec. 7 issue that hits newsstands on Wednesday.

Perhaps more so than any season during his outstanding career, Jeter cemented his legacy as a Yankees icon and surefire first-ballot Hall of Famer in 2009. He batted a team-high .334 and passed Lou Gehrig's franchise mark for base hits, which now stands at 2,747. He also lived up to - and even enhanced - his reputation as a clutch player, batting .344 with a .432 on-base percentage, three home runs and six RBIs. He saved his best work for the World Series, batting .407 to lead the Yankees to a six-game victory over the defending world champion Philadelphia Phillies.
I've always believed that as a captain, Jeter does his best work behind closed doors without drawing attention to himself. His play day in and day out, and how the team follows his example, is what defines a leader and valuable player. The nation saw it during the postseason and will get to relive it over the holidays.

Monday - UGH

Good Morning, good morning,,, I'd like to say Good Morning !!

BUT I CAN't ,,, oh my ,, this is gonna be a day,,,

A) if there is a spot that is not sore on this body,, I can't find it

B) Work is a mess,,, and I am covering for DAMN near everyone still,,

C) It's Cyber Monday!

D) I already have a head ache !!  and it's like 5am !!

Ok, enough all ready,,, maybe things get better later,,, BUT don't count on it,,,  ok is that depressing enough for YA !??  Really ok,,, Hey remind me,,, although I don't know how you will do that , about the Best Cheese burger that I have ever had,,, Out Side of Le Cellier at EPCOT ...

ahh the art of Coffee making,,,, not the Brewing of the crushed up beans,, although who came up with that foir the 1st time,,, ..

"hey guys !  take these beans crush 'em up,,, and run hot water thru them -!!"  and VIOLA ! Coffee !! Oh,, then take some of the stuff that just leaked outta that cows udder, ,,,and put that into the coffee,,, along with a little of this cane fruit to make it sweet,,, and again ,,VIOLA !
and then we f'ing have  Starbucks chargin  $5 for a Caffe Latte Mocha Grande cappichino !!

Ok,, so each persons makes "their" coffee "their" way.

Black, Milk only, Cream only, Sugar only, Sweetner only,, oh yea that Splenda crap - made from sugar but not sugar,, WTF is it then !! Milk and sugar, extra lite, extra sweet.  Where was I going with this ,, oh yes,,,

Rewind to "BLACK" FRIDAY Morning - ~4am....

At the Mobil Mart Coffee Station is a guy,,, makin his cup ,,,

He starts  with the Cream, then 1/2 cup of coffee, then more cream .,... he then takes the red little stirrer straw thingy,,, puts his finger of the End, pokes it into the coffee,,, pulls out the Straw thingy with the Coffee Trapped in it cause his finger is over the end,,,, drains the coffee into the palm of his other hand that is cupped to hold the coffee & then proceeds to SLURP the Friggin coffee outta his hand to taste it,,, again I have to ask WTF !?!
He  repeats this process like 5  times ,, adding cream , the the Sugar, now SLURP.,,  then more cream, and more sugar, each time performing the SLURPPIUNG  !!  All this till he gets it just right. I was wondering what would happen if the CUP became full BEFORE the Mixture was just right.

I then have the good fortune of being behind him at the cash register. He buys "THE" Coffee,, a Bottle of Travel sized SCOPE Mouth wash, and 2 Slim Jims. and  he PAYS with a $100 Dollar Bill, for which they need his Drivers license, a Credit card, and note from his mother that the Bill is Legit !

Again - WTF !!   ALL part of the Adventure that has become  MY life in HELL !!

Ok,,, SO this course is easy to follow,,,, Start Way the hell out by the track at Arlington HighSchool.... run over to Dr Fink Road,,, that connects with Freedom just long enough to cross the Road , and go Up Cramer Hill,,, big hill ,,, Cramer then connects to OLD Overlook - go right on OLD Overlook , then Left on Overlook rd...  mostly downhill here till you make a right on Sleight Plass rd.  - water stop here (3 Water stops courtesy of the Boy Scouts) Sleight Plass into the Valley, one big ole hill near Plass's chicken farm,,, Go thru Mile 8, Water stop #2 here and keep straight on South Ave,, some traffic here to watch for... Keep right onto Rt 44,,, up a small hill , then right onto Traver Road,,, Traver is up and down for the next two miles,,, Water stop near Medaugh Rd. then a BIG HILL , last one at mile 12 .... reconnect to Freedom road, that then goes  all the way back to Dr. Fink, about 2 and 1/2 miles,,, Left on Dr. Fink, 1/2 mi, then  left into the Parking lot at the HS, a lap around the Parking lot,,, and you are done ! 15.5 miles,,,,

Here are the mile Splits,,, Geez,, I am a lousy Hill runner,,, and I think they got the Measurement of the Mileage wrong thru 9,10,11,,, no way I ran a 7:52.... All in all happy with the results,,, should hav listened to myself, and started out with the Tank top instead of the Long sleever,,, I would not have had to carry the LongSleever  back from the 2 mile mark , where I took it off,,, and I made th right call and brought my Fuel belt,,, Gatorade = GOOD STUFF !!

So ,,I ran the 13 miles in 2:05 ,, way faster than my Disney World plan,,, that will be a 2.5 hour 1/2 marathon,,,  saving myself for the Next day's Full 26.2 mile Marathon !!....

Black Friday,,, we are collectively NUTS

Ok,, so the Paper says the 1st person lined up at the Local Best Buy at 8am On Thursday !!!  So they gave up the entire Holiday,,, to sit at the Mall,,,, and as I drove down rt 9 this morning at 3:45am ,, the Mall is Packed, and Kohls, is Packed,,, Just what exactly do we need that is this important. This in a world of War,,, and poverty, and kids going to sleep hungry, and Abandoned animals,,, WE - as a Society have got it all Ass Backwards,,, Now , I am not lecturing ,, I am as bad as the next person, although we have tried of the past 5 years to change up our Holiday traditions, and Give food to the local church, and Adopt a Family for Christmas, as opposed to buying each other more crap we don't need.... 

So ,,I guess, I am only asking you , as the general populous, to consider what it means to be a person in the World, be a better Man to your fellow Men,, Help make someone else's Miracle Happen,,,

Turkey trot was  really good,,, I ran a 2:29:11,, I expected 10 min per mile, that's 9:40 or so per mile,, hey ,,it's just a jog pace, but it is exactly whatI need to do for the Disney Marathon. It was warm day,, at least for fat guys like me,,, so I was in a tank top, and shorts , with my new Fancy Fuel Belt,, and trusty I-pod. I ran the entire race,,, no walking up the hills,,,, but that Big one at Mile 12 on Traver road is stilla killer !! Check back for Photos,,, as I did notice a Photog.. at mile 8 there in P.V..  Taking pictures,,,
