Maybe it's me ?

So I am reading these stories as a lead-in to the Playoffs ,, and some very learned folks, and some of them Current and former players, are discussing instant replay,,,

And that it will be used on Home run calls,,,as that directly affects a scoring play,, and that in the future MLB will look to expand that coverage to all "Scoring Opportunities" and using examples of 2 outs , bases loaded, and the left fielder clearly traps the ball , but the Ump calls him out ending the inning,,, they would reverse that letting the players score,,, and continuing the Inning,,,, how "they" will know what runners would have scored, and where the Outfielder would have thrown the ball is an entire other discussion.

My take is that how do "THEY" know what a scoring Opportunity is ??

Team is down by 2 runs, one man on,,, Ground ball to the infield, throw to 1st, Batter is clearly safe, and called OUT , but NOT a scoring opportunity, so no Reply. Next inning the Lead off guys hits what is NOW a SOLO Home run,,, If "THEY " used the reply , and reversed the call from the previous inning putting 2 men on with two outs , would that same batter have hit a 3 Run Homer ??? Would the Pitcher have thrown the same pitch ,,,, It's the Falsity of the predetermined outcome.

I can make the same case inside the same inning. No one on ,,,, batter clearly safe at 1st is called out,,, Next batter hits a home run, or a double or triple that would have Scored the guy that was called out,,, is that a Scoring opportunity ??? what would you like to do now, ?? Pretend that the runner scored,,, Maybe he fell down, missed 3rd, was thrown out at the Plate,,, who the hell knows,,

My opinion is forget it,,, there is just way too many instances that the play would have and should have continued, but because the SAFE or OUT call was given the next part of the play never happened,,,, YOU want to use it for Home-runs,,, I am fine with that,,,, other than that let it go. You wanna use Quest-tek to call balls and strikes? Me neither, let the umpires decide the call,, encourage them to discuss calls that they may have missed without repercussion.

If MY Yankees get beat on a bad call.. I might have a new Opinion on this !

Other THAN THAT - Let's PLAYBALL !!
