A Can of Whoop Ass

They were out hit,,, out pitched, out Played ,..... PERIOD !

Guess what surprised me is the Hitting,,,,ok,,, THE OLDE "Good pitchin Stops good hitting" I get it... . but game after game,,,, you Never saw the Yankee offense come alive even for an Inning,,,, you wanna say GAME one, 8th inning,,,ok,,,, but not after that,,, Texas had good pitchers,,, Not great,.... and they shut 'em down,,,,

With the Yanks out of it,... It's over for me,... could not care less who or how plays in the series,, I spose IF the NLCS goes to 7 games I'll watch that... but thats it...

So let the speculation begin for 2011.... We can wait for the Post Season awards... I think Cano gets the MVP, and CC the Cy Young,,,remember those are voted on Before the playoffs start so that the Playoffs have no bearing on the vote...

I will sign in here at a later date with a Report Card on the Team,, what I think they need for '11 . and who is out there to get....

For Starters

Geez,,,, 1st CC , now Hughes,,,, Yankee starting pitching is killing them,,

combined 8 innings, 16 Hits !, 8 Walks - that's 24 Base runners in 8 innings,,, simple math ,, says that too damn many runners ! 12 runs, and 6 strikeouts, in a word Horrible !. So the Guy that everyone is just Killin,,, Mr Burnett,,, has an opportunity here to make everyone GAG on their words,,, when he pitches game 4,,, and oh BTW,, and I am not saying that the Yanks CAN'T beat Robert E (CLIFF) Lee,,, they certainly can,,, however there is a STRONG possibility that the Yanks will be lookin at being down 2 games to 1 when AJ takes the Mound, so a loss in that game means that they will face elimination in game(s) 5, 6, and of course 7 ...

Yankees Bull pen : GOOD Stuff - VERY good stuff,,

in the 2 Games,,,, still have not surrendered a run ! They are a combined 9 innings, 3 hits, Zero Runs, 5 walks (2 intentional) and 10 K's,. that's Outstanding !

Ok,, So It's Back to the BRONX ! and Game 3 Andrew Eugene .vs Robert E (CLIFF) Lee... Wish I had a ticket !

Later Dudes,,, and Dude-ettes !

into the 8th.............

Shutdown, nearly shutout,,, our guy is gone after 4 ,we are losing by 4 runs with 6 outs left,,, hummmmmmmmmmm ..

We got 'em just where we want 'em!

Inning Eight ...

1st Batter = A hustle single,,, beating the pitcher to 1st base, was a he a bit lazy gettin over there ? Maybe,,ok easy for me to say , BUT these are the playoffs,... Speed Kills !

2nd Batter = A double down the line by the Captain - one run scores - 3 down.

Change pitchers.

3rd Batter = A Walk.

4th Batter = Another walk.

Change pitchers.

5th Batter = A Single to left scores 2 , ok easy for me to say , BUT these are the playoffs, so, Don't give me that Oh-Lay shit, get in front of the ball !. ONE RUN DOWN .

6th Batter = Another single - GAME TIED - 5 run lead is now - how do you say BYE_BYE

Change pitchers.

7th Batter = Another single, Whoops, now losing by one run 6-5 ....

Move to the Bottom of the 8th - they get to hit,, 4 Straight Balls,,, Tying runs on 1st,
2 pitches later, PICKED OFF 1st ! ok easy for me to say , BUT these are the playoffs, That Can't Happen !

Then it's a Ground out , A strike out = 3 outs = Inning over !

Fast Forward to Bottom 9 .,... The Great One is pitching,, he has blown some saves lately,, he is gettin old , maybe slowing,,, They know he's gonna throw that "Cutter"

1st Batter = Pinch hitter singles to right.. Tying run on ,,,

2nd Batter = Sac bunt - ONE out,but Tying run moves into scoring position ! Let's wave our F'ing towels !

3rd Batter = Awwwww - STRUCK HIM OUT SWINGING ! on a humm "Cutter"?

4th Batter = Their GUY , already homered ! he will tie the game , WHOOPS, 1st pitch, a hummmmmmmmm "Cutter" ground out to third , he's out 5 - 3,, 3rd to 1st.. for those that are NOT keeping score... and

OMG They lose .. WE win !

Ok.. easy for me to say , BUT these are the playoffs. That is the way things Happen when don't play all 27 outs !

Good things come in Threes

Hope you enjoy these.,....

All over the place

Greeting,,,,, Met with Brian, and Coaches yesterday,,, and, Joe and I have agree on this rotation... and this also means everyone on Normal rest .
@ Texas Friday Game 1 - CC - No brainer
@ Texas Saturday Game 2 - Phil Hughes - a righty after the Lefty and really more about switchin Andrew to game #3 and havin Andy, not Hughes for Game 7
In Da Bronx Monday Game 3 - Andrew Eugene,,, the lefty - in Yankee Stadium, and Sets him up in case of Game 7
In Da Bronx Tuesday Game 4 - AJ - I see this as one of two possibilities - he is either HORRIBLE ,or as I expect good- like 7 inning 2 runs 5 hits.
In Da Bronx Wednesday Game 5 - CC - this was always Torre's critical game,,,, think about the possible combinations,,, you are 2 -2 and need to win B4 going back to Texas,,, up 3-1 and can clinch,, Down 3 -1 and MUST WIN !
@ Texas - Friday - Game 6 - Phil Hughes -
@ Texas Saturday - Game 7 - Andrew Eugene...
and don't give me this IF we lose the 2 in TEXAS you are bringing CC back on Short rest into game 3,,to face Lee,,, frig that,,, if you lose 2 in Texas, you need to win 4 of 5 ,, not just survive another day,,,
I am saying Yanks in 5 maybe 6...

Maybe it's me ?

So I am reading these stories as a lead-in to the Playoffs ,, and some very learned folks, and some of them Current and former players, are discussing instant replay,,,

And that it will be used on Home run calls,,,as that directly affects a scoring play,, and that in the future MLB will look to expand that coverage to all "Scoring Opportunities" and using examples of 2 outs , bases loaded, and the left fielder clearly traps the ball , but the Ump calls him out ending the inning,,, they would reverse that letting the players score,,, and continuing the Inning,,,, how "they" will know what runners would have scored, and where the Outfielder would have thrown the ball is an entire other discussion.

My take is that how do "THEY" know what a scoring Opportunity is ??

Team is down by 2 runs, one man on,,, Ground ball to the infield, throw to 1st, Batter is clearly safe, and called OUT , but NOT a scoring opportunity, so no Reply. Next inning the Lead off guys hits what is NOW a SOLO Home run,,, If "THEY " used the reply , and reversed the call from the previous inning putting 2 men on with two outs , would that same batter have hit a 3 Run Homer ??? Would the Pitcher have thrown the same pitch ,,,, It's the Falsity of the predetermined outcome.

I can make the same case inside the same inning. No one on ,,,, batter clearly safe at 1st is called out,,, Next batter hits a home run, or a double or triple that would have Scored the guy that was called out,,, is that a Scoring opportunity ??? what would you like to do now, ?? Pretend that the runner scored,,, Maybe he fell down, missed 3rd, was thrown out at the Plate,,, who the hell knows,,

My opinion is forget it,,, there is just way too many instances that the play would have and should have continued, but because the SAFE or OUT call was given the next part of the play never happened,,,, YOU want to use it for Home-runs,,, I am fine with that,,,, other than that let it go. You wanna use Quest-tek to call balls and strikes? Me neither, let the umpires decide the call,, encourage them to discuss calls that they may have missed without repercussion.

If MY Yankees get beat on a bad call.. I might have a new Opinion on this !

Other THAN THAT - Let's PLAYBALL !!
