Don;t know why...

Hey,,, one of my Favorite shows is Criminal Minds,,,, maybe cause of the logical way these folks need to think to Profile the Bad guys... but anyway,,, the show was - I my mind,,, no pun intended ,, considerably better with Mandy Patinkin than it is with Joe Mentegna... but the remaining cast is strong enough to carry the show,,, and although Kirsten Vangsness's character , Penelope Garcia is probably the best supporting character on TV,,, its Spencer Reid - Matthew Gray Gubler , that I really enjoy watching,,,, they have written this role purely from the Super genius nerd standoint,,, makes you wonder who was the "model" for his character......

Ok,,So i am going to work Thursday morning,,, and somewhere right after I get on the road,,, there is a pick-em-up truck behind me,,, mind you this is at 3:45 AM !! and the way you can tell its a pick up,, is that the headlights are high enough to still be in my mirrors,, even though the drier is one foot from my bumper,,,,

He follows me all the way down the route,,, 5 miles to the traffic light,,, And I am doing like 5 miles OVER the speed limit which goes from 55 to 45 to 40 to 30,,, He actually flashed his lights a few times like I am pulling over !! ok,,, He continues right on my ass,,, and I am not reacting to what ever he is up to....

As we pass the Grade School... I see a Town Cop in one of those SUV type vehicles,,, pull out and go right from the street that I am going to turn Right into...I immediately think ,... If I put my directional on,,, and slow up,, I bet that MR PICK up will pass me,,,, He takes the BAIT,,,, I put on my right directional.. and he immediately pulls out to pass me - ITS A DOUBLE YELLOW LINE !! and I guess he did not see the Police !! AS soon as he gets along side me the Lights come on in the Cop CAR !!! GOT CHA!! ASSHOLE !! I nearly turned around to go past him and toot my horn,,,, But I thought no need ,,, he knows that I got him....

Back from the North !!

Greetings,,, I am back from the North country.... Mission accomplished 4 piers dug,, One HUGE fing rock moved,,, Telephone like poles planted, and back filled ,, 2 beams built up - 30 feet long,.. Two 12 Footers, Two 10 Footers, and Two 8 footers,,, picked up, , UGH, and installed under the Cabin. Shimmed into place, and ends flashed to keep the weather off them.. I thought the Diggin would have been harder,,, but with exception of ONE HUGE rock,, we were lucky.... and had the whole thing done by 5 pm on MONDAY !!

Took a trip over to Long Lake,,, geeze that place has not changed much in 30 years ,,, Buttermilk falls,,, still the same, and The Adirondack Hotel looks like it looked in the 70's !! Custards Last stand still at the corner of 28 and 30,,, although NOT open till way later in MAY !!



Ok,, that's the trip report,,,, I got one more day till I gotta go back to work,,, so Mowing, with my new Blades, and installing a kill switch for the mover deck, and Gettin A mirror from the junk yard sanding the deck rail, and moving a bird feeder are all in the plans,,,, hey,, if you need something done .. drop me a line,,, after I get the "Honey Do" project line finished ,, maybe I can get to yours !!


Oh,, BTW ,, Yanks are in 1st place,,, and playing well, even that Bum Vazquez got a win last night,,,,,

All the logistics worked out fine,,,, Trains, and subways,,, got us there on time,,, Ryan arrived just at the End of the National Anthem,,, but well intime for 1st pitch, and the Player Roll-Call,,, always a highlight of the Bleacher experience,,, wne thru the players, and the BOX SEATS SUCK chant,,, guy even brought the old cow bell,,,, so all in all very good,,,

Now to the Game,,, all you need to know is that the Yankees could not touch Piniero,,he gave up one run on 3 hits over 7 .. Jo-el had 'em swingin over wha ever he was throwing,, either that slider, or he was cuttin that fastball,,, aside from Kay_no,, he had hits off Piniero,, and Swish's Triple,,, there was nothing,,, Arod with 3 K's, and Tex Oh for Four,,, not good,,, Vazquez was not bad ,,, just was not good,,, as the pitcher I think you need to recognize that your team is not hittin the other guy, and youy need to not give up runs,,, Buy Javi just did not have a pitch to get guys out with,,, he had many of e'm in a oh-two, and one two hole, and they battled back with hits, and RBI's,,, Aceves was good, followed by Chamberlain, and Marte,,, but ,,even in the either after Piniero was gone,, they could not get the big hit they needed,,, just ground balll outs that scored two in the 8th to get closer, but that was as close as it would get,,,, so ,,, onto tonight, and Phil Hughes,,,, let see what he looks like,,, If he gets hit around they will immediately be the chorus of PU JPBA IN THE ROTATION,,,,Shut the F UP !

and speakin of that,,, to those Idiot Yankee sfans Chanting Boston Sucksm Boston Sucks,, after the game,,,, just shut up,, A) the Redsox are not there, B) They won that after noon,,you probably can't read the scoreboards C) your Team just got there Assess handed to them by the Angels,,, so let;s leave the Sox alone for a day - ok ,,shut up !

and can we take it a little easier with the prices,,,$9 for a Burger !! $17 for 2 domestic beers... please ,,,,what are the Yankees lookin to do ,,pay for the new stadium, this year !! and ,, it was very sad to see the old stadium half torn down,,, now I was and remain a supporter of the the NEW Yankee Stadium,,, but come on,,, the old Girl could not have been leveled in the off season !

ok,, so I tell myself EVERY Year,,, relax,,, take a deep breath,,, its a long season,,, and yet every night,,, I am on the edge of my seat,, hanging on each pitch ! ,, waiting for great comeback !,.... and the tension builds,, the expectations are so high. Maybe it's easier being a fan of a losing team.,,, YOU know in your heart of hearts that they suck, and they are not gonna make the playofffs,,, so when they don't it's no bigge,,,,

Pettitte - I'd be thrilled with 15,,, and would take 12 wins
Vazquez,,, WHO knows,,, last time we saw him he was losing game 7 to the F SOX
Hughes, - I think 12 wins,,, might get surprised,,, but 12 is good,

Mariano will be Mariano - AGAIN !
Joba - he is the Mo heir apparent,,, look for him to be Mr 8th inning,, and might even bop that goofy looking Pukolus in the head again !
Aceves, Marte, Mitre, - oh boy,,, betche its hit or miss
Chan ho Park, how old is this guy ? 37 !! he will end up either released or in AAA with the Agawa ! They got him caused he pitched well .vs the Yanks in the Series.,..
I like Robertson, and Aceves to get to the Big Boys

Johnson - will be on the DL more than in the line up...look for Randy Winn to get more play time
Teixeira - Huge year,,, just huge,,,
Alex - MVP type year,,,
Cano - will he survive hitting behind A-rod ? A-rod's year might depend on how well CANO hits...
Jorge - be interesting to see how many games Cervelli gets behind the Plate, and I think Jorge moves up to the 5 spot..
Swisher, - same as last year,,, real solid OBP guy
Granderson, may hit 2nd,,, How many times will he Strike OUT.. he hit .249 last year, but I think he was like 180 .vs Leftys..ouch !
Gardener - Can he hit enought to stay in the line up.,,, we will see,,, hope he gets like 30 - 40 games to find out...

Cervelli- I'd like to see him catch - alot, and DH Posada

My subjects.... 13. 1 Flushing Meadows,, & New FLICKR

1st up,,, the 13.1 mile 1/2 Marathon yesterday at Flushing meadows park.,...1st off,, excellent accommodations,,,at A & R's in Kew Gardens,,,,, nice dinner, and post race Lunch , plus transportation to and from the race. Although we parked WAaaay away from Fluching meadows, over on the opposite side of CITI Field,,, and if you know that neighborhood,,, and the auto repair shops that line the street,,,

The 13.1 miles was very good,,, nice course even though it wound around and around thru the park,,, and they could have not put up the later mile signs at the beginning of the race,,,, just a mental thing jogging past the 10 mile sign just after the 3rd mile !
Plenty of support along the course, Gatorade, and water at every mile past the 5 mile mark. and lots of spectators. It was really neat running by the Unisphere... and rememebring when I was there at the Worlds Fair in 1964...


Overall decent time for FAT me,,, 2:06:19 Chip time - 35th of 70 some in my Age group, and 992 of 2103 runners overall,... so my last 1/2 marathons, have been 2:04, 2:10 , 2:05, 2:30 (intentionally slow at Disney) and now 2:06... a bit disappointed with the T-shirt,,, its nice microfiber and cool dark green and all,,, but the XL size is barely a Large,,, so I can never wear it,, maybe I'll shrink one day, and fit into it then !!

If you care my splits were,,, and I missed some miles , but this is close,,,
