So, after not seeing any Moose on the Northern Outfitters Canoe Moose Safari,,,, we nearly ran into one on RT 15/6 on the way to Rockwood... only Expert lightning reflexes by Bob in the passenger seat ensured us of 3 Pictures of the Moose as he crossed the Road right in front of the car,,,, or Caaaa as they say in Maine,,, A-yuh....

Belated remembrance - Warren Zevon

Belated remembrance....... I missed the anniversary of Warren's death,,, and now having looked it up in WIKIPEDIA,,, I know it was on the 7th of this month,,, 5 Years ago,,, can it be that long ???????? I had the great pleasure of seeing Warren back in the day, at SPAC,,, with Linda Ronstadt, and then years later at "The Chance" ,, him playing both Acoustic, and Electric sets,,,, He was an outstanding Song writer, and Performer,,, with just that sort of Stephen King kinda edge to his songs,,,,, If you do not have any of Warrens music ,, I suggest "Excitable Boy" , "Sentimental Hygiene" and "Stand in the Fire" .. I have Included a few Videos from the Letterman show that was Warrens last real appearance, as he knew at the at time he was dying of inoperable mesothelioma, plus one from back in 1982,,,,

Oh my god ,,, my vacation is OVER !! and I am back to work... ugh,,,, Maine was great,,, and we had a wonderful time,, perfect Weather , excellent Area - Greenville Maine,,, and very friendly ... and one BIG M.F. Moose !!!

Modern Life and

If you are one of those folks who thinks that Modern life is better than it was hundreds of years ago,,, I beg to differ,,,, Ok,, so we have running water, and indoor potties,,, but really , all this Cell phone,, Instant Messaging,,, Mobile computing,, Text messaging,,etc etc,,,, geez,,, to be - literally - available 24x7 is just not healthy,,,

Ok,,so the Microwave, and the MP3 player are extensions of our Modern life style,,, and folks so hooked to the Blackberry that they are constantly "in touch"... A voice heard in an otherwise empty Men's room at 4:30 in the morning , until I realize that the guy in the Stall is on his GD Cell Phone,,, ok so #1 Mark rule,,, If I call and you are in the can,,,,, Let Voice mail pick it up !!

Socks,,,,, in the many miles that I am traveling along the roads these days .. One Can't help but notice the lost (I Guess) SOCKS !! What is with this phenomenon?? and never - and I mean NEVER - are there 2 socks,,, just one,,, In the say 10 or so miles of roads around my home,,, there are a dozen or more SOCKS !! no other clothing ,,,, no shirts, no pants, no underwear.,, ONE hat - but that's it,,, how do the socks get there,,, were they running away from home??? did hey just out of the dryer, & decide "No Way I am going back to that Sock Drawer "


I just don't get it,..... and I have no conclusion for this argument,,, I'm just sayin,,, not for nothing,,,,,

I have posted this Cartoon, as I search for others,,,, this takes me back to days (really nights) at "THE CHANCE" a saloon in the City of Poughkeepsie,,, the Last Chance Banjo Band played there every Friday and Saturday night,,,, the place was always packed,,, they served Popcorn and the best Dark beer in the world !!! so before & at "intermission" they would show cartoons , and WC Fields, and Charlie Chase movies.

Not all choices in life are as critically important as a Life or Death decision on what form our end , and the end of the world will take...............



However - Making decisions,,, Choices - is what we as humans do,,,, Paper or Plastic ?? Shaken or Stirred??? Fries with that?? Sprinkles on that Cone sir ??

Decisions made in our youth echo long into tour adult lives sometimes,,,, Drinkin and drivin,,, Smoking , Partying,,, and those we choose to be our life partners,, (Soul Mates - HA !) Is that Guy or Gal that looks like they have limited options at 18 or 21 grow up to be Bill Gates?? or Oprah ??? Well maybe not that but,,,,, Sometimes the Frog is a Prince,,, or Princess,,, you just need to let them grow into the role, and that person or persons that has the faith in you deserves the Long View............. they / we need to reap the rewards,,, the Hot Dog, & pineapple dinner is replaced with reservations at the Chrystal Palace, and the Legacy's take the place of Pintos.. and not that all things material are the End game,,, as they are Not !! Just a measure of "success" that everyone understands....



There is no Garminn to guide us, and show us what the Trip looks like IF a certain route is taken and certainly no way to see the End - or even how it ends,,,, So,,, take a very close look at life around you Choose wisely,,, Look at both the short term gain, and the Long term Potential . That damn "P" word has gotten many a person ... Bestow the appropriate award/reward/payback/Love on those who supported you.. "CHOSE you " when others - for their own reasons took the shorter view, the presumed easier path,,,
