Sally's story should inspire visits to shelter

Everyone in Dutchess County and beyond has heard of Sally, the dog, left to die by some person(s) that deserve to have the full measure of the humane law book heaved at them - several times, if possible. However, along with finding and punishing those responsible, we, as concerned citizens, need to take additional action. Everyone that read the stories and felt for that dog should:

  • Go to the shelter and visit the animals. You just might find your "best friend" has been waiting for you.
  • Adopt a dog or cat. We have six - four are shelter cats.
  • Volunteer to be a dog walker, a cat petter, or whatever else you can do to assist the dedicated staff at the SPCA shelter.
  • Donate something. Time, money, food, blankets, etc. Visit their Web site or call them to see what they need.

Outraged by the Inhumane treatment of Sally? Now is the time for you to take action.
