Generated and Collected

  No one  wants  to talk about Tariffs on Easter ??  Oh wait - I do...

Who pays the Tariff??  The importer - of course - unless you can show me a check - written by a Forgien Country to the United States of America  - which you CAN'T .....  we all know from Civics class back in the Day - that it's the importer that pays ,.... a Simple definition "Tariffs are taxes placed on imported goods."   and that as  we recently know is in a Percentage of the cost of those goods....- so a Steel beam that costs the importer say $1000 from a company in Japan - imported to the US - gets a 10% tariff - now costs that Importer $1100 - ($1000 + 10% of $1000 = $100)  - Got it - ok  - let's move on.... 

SO I read some stuff from the Government on what money they and this is their word - not mine. - "Generated". and then Collected...   The CBP - that's the Custom and Border Protection- - claims U.S. Customs and Border Protection has revealed how much money has been generated from Donald Trump’s tariffs “Since April 5, CBP has collected over $500 million under the new reciprocal tariffs, contributing to more than $21 billion in total tariff revenue from 15 presidential trade actions implemented since Jan 20, 2025,” CBP

OK - let's say - it's true - it most likely is not but hey - Liars will LIE  - so let's just say it IS  true.... 

Where did that money come from ??? IT was "generated" -  that means "to bring into existence" - well the money already existed  didn't it?? Someone did not mint the Dollars then give it to CBP....  IT was "Collected by the US CBP -"  and they collected that Money from the person , Persons or company that imported the Goods.....  now, Maybe in some cases the importer  EATs the increase in price..... BUT in Most all cases those increased costs are passed on to WHO ?!?!?!?!?  YUP - the Consumer of the GOODS ! BTW - That's ME and YOU ...... 

IF the Government increased our Taxes - Remember the definition of Tariff ?? They are "TAXES placed on imported good "  I do not think they would be crowing about it - HEY !!! EVERYBODY ___ WE INCREASED YOUR TAXES !!   WHOO HOOO !!  but because they think we are UPID _ STAY -  they say - "CBP has collected over $500 million under the new reciprocal tariffs, contributing to more than $21 billion in total tariff revenue" 

And all the SHEEP SAY WHOO HOOO. ,.,,,,,,
