First Amendment ...

 FOR all ya'll MAGA  yelling about protecting the American Flag - - please just go read the Executive order that Fat Nixon signed,.... NOWHERE and I mean NOWHERE in that order does it say  anything about a one year sentence for Burning a flag.,...  Let's say a few things about this ... and we can remember that I ain't the smartest guy in the world... 

1st - the Supreme court (before it was corrupted ) ruled that Buring a flag was protected by the First amendment - now I know that the Felon in the Whitehouse does not like the Constituton or the rule of law. Be that as it may ...  The U.S. Supreme Court has affirmed that burning the American flag is a form of symbolic speech protected by the First Amendment, particularly in the 1989 case Texas v. Johnson. The Court ruled that the government cannot prohibit the expression of an idea simply because society finds it offensive. While the ruling is controversial and has faced multiple challenges, including subsequent federal laws and attempts at constitutional amendments, the Supreme Court's interpretation remains that flag burning as a form of protest is protected expression.

2nd - If we (you) are so offended by the desecration of the FLAG why limit it to burning??  How about putting someones image on it?  and that persons image with Machine guns or riding a velociraptor ??  or replacing the stars with the Confederate flag ??? all that ok ?!??!  I'm betting yes. If fat nixon does it ,,  it's ok...

3rd - IMHO - this BS executive action is the start of the attack on the First Amendment.  look - just read the order ...  it talks about "shall refer the matter to the appropriate State or local authority for potential action."  and I think that is exactly what they are after - they want court cases to get to the Supreme court and challenge the legality of burning the flag - challenge the First Amendment. in that way eliminate the other Rights the Amendment affords us... and sets up Fat Nixon as the Fascist Authoritarian defining what is lawful  and what is not -  I believe that this is Step #1...   so look for a Court case to get to the new (Corrupt) court and get DUMPO's Cronies to go along with the dismantling of the Bill of Rights...

 We have lived in South Carolina for going on 4 years now - not a long time....   moving here from NY to escape the COLD WINTERS and the Snow ....  we looked around the SC and NC area for a few trips and settled on Conway, South Carolina - taken by the Beautiful city - and the Waccamaw River (nowhere near as big as the Hudson )...  

You find things different here in the South- There seems to be DOLLAR stores on every corner - Family Dollar, Dollar General,  Dollar Tree,,,,,,    and not be out done - there are more Churches than Dollar stores,,,, they are in Strip malls - Small venues  maybe once  used to be shops or restaurants and large Stand- alone structures - all that are packed on Sunday mornings...Some are recognizable = Baptists, Methodists, but many many  are not - "The Church of the Blessed Bible" , The church Of the Seacoast, The Rock, The Pentecostal church,  Jamestown Church - I have seen ONE Catholic church and one Jewish temple - SO yea - lots and lots of Churches....   We have Golf-Cars - aka Golf Carts ,,.. these are legally driven on side roads and can cross main roads - they don't seem to require seatbelts or helmets, or anything ... I see children riding on parents laps, and sitting in the back seats of these things by themselves - and unfortunately - there are accidents with them that do not turn out well for the occupants of the Golf-car.

And it's odd to see people riding in the back of pick-up trucks just asking to get tossed out if there is a wreck.....   Nearly every main or sorts main road - has a center lane that is used as a Merge and turn lane...  and oh - did I mention that no one uses turn signals ..... 

There are no Auto inspections,,, none - not for safety items, not for emissions,,, NADA=  now there are requirements that the vehicle has to meet - Lights, tires, brakes etc,, but no one ever checks to make sure that they work....   and at least on the main 501 route between here and the Beach / Myrtle Beach - there is Traffic - now not L.I.E. traffic but traffic,,, and if there is (and there always seems  to be ) an accident - there is no way around the main route - two bridges / 3 lanes  enter and leave Conway on 501 (two lanes)  and Business 501(one lane) - both of these cross the Waccamaw river ,, and to the south of all this is that river - and to date there are no plans to build another way across the Wet land,,,,,  hence - when the accidents occur - you are stuck waiting until it clears as the Traffic just backs up for miles ........

Even though there is a new law - regulating the SQUAT trucks - these are pickup trucks with the Front end raised and back lowered (squatting)  this new law states thtat the front cannot be more than 4 inches higher than the back - frankly when you see these - you have to wonder how they see over the hood !!

Everyone or near everyone calls you Mr or Miss then first name - so MR Mark... 

and I have told folks I go to that its just Mark - and they have said - OH NO = 

"My Momma  would whoop me if I did not call you that ".

There are - as least it seems to me - more folks here that need assistance - with clothes, with food , with housing,   and the good news (if it is good news)  Every one of those churches has a food pantry, a clothes bin, and there are stand alone organizations, and thrift shops that support the same - some actually have refrigerated storage - so you can donate milk and eggs  - dairy products....  and yes - like I'd dare say every southern town and city - there are homeless folks....  It is easier to be homeless where its warm, than where its cold... 

One of the things here is that the population has exploded in the past decades - there are many many housing developments.  and more planned.,....   now - I believe that the influx of people always comes before the gains in infrastructure .   so we are always needing more schools, more/ larger roads, more services, garbage, police, fire, etc...  and let me say that it is rare - at least in the folks I know - that anyone is from here,.....  the Northeast is the main contributor ... with a few folks from other locales,,,  I know one - maybe 2 that are born and raised Southerners -   however - let me tell you that (if you read and believe the posts and comments on the Book of Faces)  those from here have a hatred or maybe its distain for those that have moved here....   Each post on car accident, flooding, housing development, etc - you can't get past 1/2 dozen comments before its all the fault of those who - like us - moved here from elsewhere - and god forbid a person asks "where are the best Bagels". Or Pizza or Chinese food. ???  that is met with many GO BACK TO WHERE YOU CAME FROM comments .....  I would only hope that those making these comments about who they consider foreigners -  do not use any of the services or businesses that came with the development of the towns and cities,, that they do not have an income that is dependant on that population - builder, electrician , plumber, HVAC,  - that would seem to my hypocritical.

It was all flattery, no real progress, and a big win for the Kremlin. 90,000 sqft that will seat  650 people -  - let that one sink in....  the Current Dining room holds about 140 people - and I believe that there has been near 180 + at one event....   and btw - that room is about 2500 sqft..    so those paying a Grift to Dumpo will be funding a 90,000 / 650 people dining room for $200 million dollars...  hummmm.  let's look at some math.

2500 sqft = 200 people  -  90,000 sqft = 650 people - yall are increasing the space by near 40 times - but the people it can hold will be increased by 3 times  ok - let's say it's 5 times more people as I know MAGA has math troubles ....   WTF - and even if ya say - well the 90,000 wont be all dining room - and thats true - even of we take 1/2 of the 90,000 that is sill increasing the size TWENTY TIMES and the Capacity by 3-5 times...  and mind you that it is expected that this will take until the END of Dumpos term in office,.. or longer -   so he as the POTUS will never (unless he deletes the Constitution - and that is possible by then) he will never host a dinner there....   

AND let's look at Building costs ...   the Most Luxurious Mansion construction costs in 2025 ranges between $300 per sqft to $1000 per sqft......   and what is this great ballroom gonna cost ??!?  over $2,200 per sqft.... I think we all know where the overage money is gonna go - right into Dumpo's pockets - hey he grifted monies from a Foundation that was to support  the Army Emergency Relief, the Children’s Aid Society, Citymeals-on-Wheels, Martha’s Table, and paid a $2 million dollar fine for it - do you really think he would even think twice about stealing money froma construction project - If Im a contractor on this project - I'd get my Money up front,

 I live to watch the little league world series and the Regional tournaments..

The craziest ending so far this year - was yesterday in the Southeast Region final. the Team from Florida .vs the Team from South Carolina- the St Mary's Florida team  from same place that was the one that won the whole thing last year defeating Taipei 2-1 ...   

This  game went into the bottom of the 6th - with Florida up 4-0  - Three outs and you go back to Williams port to try to defend your title -  so up by 4 runs ,  and  BTW florida  had outscored their opponents  26-1 in this regional tournament, and  and had defeated this same SC team 14-0 on Sunday.....  so a comeback of 4 runs was highly unlikely...  but the pitcher for Florida started the inning off with 2 walks,,, then got one out when he reached the 85 pitch limit. the relief  pitcher walked another - then he got the 2nd out -  making it 4-1 - the SC teams best hitter was coming up and the Florida coach decided to show him the Barry Bonds treatment - and walked him with the Bases loaded scoring the 2nd run for South Carolina. - then  the SC pitcher -  Brady Westbrooks  came up and with  a 2-2 count - delivered a Double over the head of the Left fielder and cleared the bases - scoring all three of the runs, and walking off the St Mary's florida team - with IRMO South Carolina winning  5-4 and heading to Williamsport PA ... ...

And in the latest development the 2nd in command at the Department of Justice - oh yea - this guy was Dumpos former personal lawyer  Todd Blanche - Is down Meeting with  Ghislaine Maxwell's  in Tallahassee, Florida, where she is serving a 20-year sentence for sex trafficking. Maxwell's appealing her conviction - which BTW the Justice department is fighting that appeal.... 

Her lawyer said of yesterdays interview...  "there were a lot of questions and we went all day".

"She answered every one of them," he said. "She never did say I'm not going to answer, never declined." In a short , Blanche wrote: "Today, I met with Ghislaine Maxwell, and I will continue my interview of her tomorrow. The Department of Justice will share additional information about what we learned at the appropriate time."  The "Appropriate time" ???

Blanche said earlier this week that he planned to speak to Maxwell about any information she had on other people who might have been helped by Epstein to sexually abuse girls.   

YEA - ok - what's next Maxwell testifies before Congress / or a committee and implicates EVERYONE else - except Donald Trump = maybe actually goes so far as to exonerate him... then in a little while later as not to appear as a Quid-pro-Quo - Maxwell is pardoned from the Federal charges....  and all you Sheepeople just go on believing the Mango Mussolini..

I commented "Cowboy junkies" a band out of Canada - with Margo, Michael and Peter Timmins -   and I guess that the word Junkies was what offended them....  now I know that no person looked at the Appeal - it just saw the work "Junkies" and whoosh - 

2nd - the creator asked you not to name a TV show - but quote a line from that show that would give away the Title of the TV show....  AKA - Book 'em Danno - Hawaii five - O,  How you doin - Friends, and Winter is coming  - Game of Thrones,,,   my Comment was "dummy up - Meathead" a quote from All in the Family - that Archie called Mike many many many times - and same thing - violated Community Guidelines -  I appealed - just to see what  would happen....   and same thing - the commnet remained deleted - 

in contrast - there was a post of the Obama family - with the overlying text that said - "The whitehouse smells so much better when they left - we got rid of the stench,.."   I never do it - but this seemed directly Racist -  So i reported it..   a few clicks,,, and you can do it - and guess what - nope ! no Community Guieline violation here....

Do you think he has ANY idea what the hell he is talking about ?!?!?!?

The 14th amendement

 

Today - The Supreme court will rule on  The 14th Amendment relevant to birthright citizenship is the Citizenship Clause, which reads: "All persons born or naturalized in the United States, and subject to the jurisdiction thereof, are citizens of the United States and of the state wherein they reside.". 

WE should see - later today - how far the Supreme court is willing to go to destroy the Constitution - IMHO - this is the tip of the Iceberg - IF they overturn this - an amendment o the Constitution - then i Cannot even imagine what will come next - you already know that the Bought and paid for Justices - Thomas and Alito will vote to allow the POTUS to just change the constitution where he doesn't like it....  we will see how many others will join them  - adn how many will stand with the Constitution.... 

and just like that - the corrupt Curt has  started the destruction of the Republic...

We will NEVER recover from this,,,,

etiquette in Pickleball - really ???

 ok  - there has been discussion in a Pickleball group I follow about Court and play etiquette..

The subjects were Poaching  and Group of 4 playing together... and I am commenting on these as it is REC CENTER  - aka  Friendly play..aka = not tournament play... 

A) Poaching - this happens in every game - and I think when you can do it a - it is a good strategy.  Your opponent is waiting for the ball to be hit by player A - but player B jumps across and returns it instead - many times it has been successful - as they are not ready for the ball... and yep it has happened to me more times than I care to say - HOWEVER - this discussion was about one player constantly taking the ball  that is headed to  their partner  - to the point the partner and at times even the other team - says " hey - you gonna let me/them  play - or you taking all the shots " - now I guess it was directed to a younger and maybe more skilled playeer - but IMHO that makes it worse...  There is no Trophy to be gained here ...  NO checks handed out at the end of the day....   if you want to go get balls you think the other can't get - thats ONE OR TWO - fine,.  but this is REC Play - let it go =  think how it makes the other player feel .  when even being called out for it , and being spoken to by other players does not make you stop  - then I hate that the solution might be - NOPE - NO one is playing with them - wanna be a one person team - go hit balls by yourself.....  

I am going to expand this Poaching discussion to one team continually peppering the "weaker" player - again - Friendly play - NOT tournament.  I witnessed a few pissed off players when the opponents continually hit the ball to theless experienced player .  I gotta ask - If you do that .. Is that really fun for you ?? that whoa - you can slam the ball past a less experienced player ....   BFD..... and what fun for them ?? did someone do that to you when you were learning ?? when you were the less experienced player  ?? Gimme a break -   If you really are the more experienced player - act like it and get both of your opponents involved - 

 B) Group of four playing together ,... ok and I get it ...   your Group of four comes off the court and there are NOT  4 paddles in the next stack....   you don't wanna break up your 4 ....  OK - but 1) you DO NOT get to jump the line.... if there ain't 4 - then the court stays open till the next game ends that has a player or Players willing to join the less than 4 paddles waiting - too bad if a cour t has to stay open.   and I get it - you want to play competitive games - every game ....   and frankly no matter what skill level you are - or think you are - I have Questions.,....    Are you on the Pro Pickleball Tour ???  How long have you played this game. ??? a year - 2 years - or were you voted Ms/Mr Pickleball in your Grade-school Class ??  First day on the court you knew the rules,,, the scorings ? you were the one that defined Lobs and 3rd shot drops and you drew the first Kitchen line???  ya get my point. ?? as the kids say "you feel me" ??  NO ONE = NO ONE was born with a Joola Ben Johns in their hand....  everyone learned the game = so gimme a break - we have a responsibility to play games with players at all levels, and skills -  EVERY game ??  no - but enough games that others are included = and don't give advice or Coaching unless asked.,....   many players are just oth there to move and sweat a little , to get their heart pumping, and be part of the Group to converse and meet/greet others on a daily basis....  they might not be a 5.0 player and that is not their/our  goal.   i read a while back about - playing say 50-60 % of your games with people of equal skill level as yours,,,, and then 25-30 % of the games .vs people better than you - and the rest of players with skill level less that you (and maybe you work on drop shot or a lob or dinking in those games)  

and ok - let's talk about Unrequested  coaching  - Simple - DON'T DO IT !!!  - simple - DON'T do it ! keep your YAPP shut....

  If your partner asks you about where to stand or move ,, or how they can better return a shot,..  OK , thats your opportunity.. try criticizing your own play when you miss hit  a hit long or side out or into the net.   Saying things like "I know better than to make a full swing at a ball this close to the net - I know I should just kinda Punch it" or "darn - I need to get my paddle down close to the ground when that shot is returned high to the other side - man I gotta remember when their paddle goes up = mine needs to go down"  "whoa - they hit that serve hard - I have to take a step back from the End line so I can return it" ....  or darn it - look where I am - no man's land - I need to get closer to the Kitchen Line"   and like in managing people - sometimes the $hit Sandwich works best -  that's an improvement - sandwiched between two compliments..  "you really have that serve  down - you put it right in the  box every time .....  then remember the party is at the net - so when I move up - try to move up with me -  But keep getting that serve in - gives us great chance to win the point.. !!

OK - lets go to the 10th - Wells is the ghost runner at 2nd - LeMahiue cannot get the bunt down  - and he Strikes out - then they pinch run Peraza for Wells - cause they did not move Wells to 3rd - Grisman flies  - moves Peraza to thrid Goldschmitt flies out - inning over.
