Ok- SO the Raider down by 2 - move up the field - are in a 50 year field goal range - 

24 or so seconds left - and 34 on the play clock. They are lining up to spike the ball - and do that with 15 Seconds left.  . BUT  then instead of the Field goal unit - they put the offense back out for what they describe after the game as wanting to run more time off the clock  - not gain more yards  and not give Mahomes ANY seconds to work with.  Mind you 15 seconds left.... The Raiders line up in a Shotgun  formation  - Screw up the snap so that is. fumble  and there  are flags thrown on the Play - - 

so 

 if they wanted to leave Kansas City with no time - and by their own admission - they were not  looking gain more yards - just to kill more time -   gonna throw the ball out of bounds and try the 49 yard FG...   -  WHY didn't they do that at 1st down -  left the clock run to 2 seconds or what ever  when they had the ball- all lined up for the 1st down play with 15 seconds left.  

Then if the flags were for a false start -   then the play never took place and the raiders would get penalized 5 yards and redo the play ... ok then they needed some yards and still make that FG.... 

But the Illegal shift - let the Chiefs deny the penalty and take the play / Fumble and the ball... Game OVER...

Then Lions and Bears 

Bears get  within field goal  range - they are down by 3 points, -  over 30 seconds left and a Time out remaining.  They take  24 seconds to snap the ball - so 6 seconds left - the play takes all of that a few more to get an incomplete pass - what a debacle ..  the Head Coach got fired and rightly so - with what 15 or so take the damn time out -  its very obvious that  the offense is confused  -  you can decide to run another play  - maybe an out pattern and get out of bounds or just try the Field goal yea it would have been long   - but did not even get a try ..... ugh

But , what does not set with me is that hen she takes up with someone that has been found libel for assaulting a women,, Raping her and then Defaming her... and has been credibly accused by dozens of women of Sexual assault - a man ( well not by my definition) who admitted to  holding beauty pageants so he could walk into the dressing rooms of young women to see them naked.  Who had affairs on all three of his wives with the next wife and then with a  porn stars while wife #3 was pregnant. ,  THIS is the guy that Nancy Mace supports.... SO be clear - this is not about the Representative from Delaware and bathroom is or ir not used. This is about the Visuals  she can yack about and the money that she can raise from small minded people that think like she does. 

Let's be clear - We will have a president who is a Criminal . - Tariffs - that will  drive up the cost of goods in the US  and stupidly saying - "well then just buy all US made goods" - sure - go look around your house and see what's made  here - and what you have that' s made elsewhere. And if you are committed to that - go throw away everything you have that's not made in the US.... and get ready to pay that 25 % more if its from Canada or Mexico and 20% more of its from China ...  

- Dropping out or - or drastically reducing our support of  NATO - Sure the war in Ukraine can end IF Ukraine is willing to concede the land that Russia has taken in the war - giving Putin the WIN that he desperately  needs and bolstering him to invade  Bulgari, Estonia, Latvia , Poland. 

- Dropping out the Paris Climate accord - increasing Climate change, and its affects on the planet.  This is  regardless of how you think this is happening - it's that you don't want to do  anything about it.   

- Trump not signing the PRESIDENTIAL TRANSITION ACT - outlining Ethic agreements that he incoming administration - by Law - must sign .. it documents that those under its law must divest. themselves  of Holdings and place into blind trusts investments,  So that they will be making decisions based on Ethics NOT on if it will affect their Financial status.  Imagine the HOWL from the GOP if it was Obama or Biden that did not sign.....   And his breaking the LAW - AGAIN - gives others in the Administration the go ahaed to violate the law also - remember that when your family is flying in an aircraft  or driving in a car that has had maintenance done with replacement parts whos manufacture was Deregulated by someone in the Cabinet  because  it made them more money - but was totally unsafe for the rest of us .

I  ordered - so to speak - a pair of Jeans thru EBAY - I don't use that site much anymore. I used the Make and offer on a pair of Jeans - that were 28.95 Plus $8 in shipping - the seller had lots of clothes items for sale so I took a shot at $20 offer with still the $8 shipping and they accepted it..   a week later I recied the jeans in the mail - tried them on - washed them and ok - done deal ...   two days later ... I get another pair of jeans in the mail  - same size and yes - Levi's black jeans . WTF !??   How can that be - I double check my ebay purchases and there is only the one pair - the last thing I got from EBAY was a Remote for a Sound bar. then the Jeans....  the bag with the 1st pair is gone - in the garbage - so I cannot see of they came from the same person -  but how weird is that - and then to add to it - as I'm sitting on the couch investigating the jeans purchase - the kitchen faucet turns on - the faucet has a hands free feature where you kinda wave at the left side and it turns on/off - that used to happen in NY when the cats walked in front of it, - but not here - and there was no cat -   Incidents related or just coincidence???

It has come to my attention that I am - surprisingly enough - the same age as OLD PEOPLE...

When the hell did this happen ??   I don't feel  old.,  I listen to Rock music,, I am pretty good with today's technology - I Know that WHY FI is not a question....   I see people and interact with people that I think are older than me  and shit - it turns out that - in conversation - I find out that I am older then THEY ARE....

They mention when thy graduated  High-school -  and I hear 1978 -  1980,.....  versus My 1974....  

I look in the mirror and I do see an oler man - heck I am 17 months from being 70 years old - SEVENTY..

Now - are there any good things that come with this - well  - sure ... I retired a few years ago and thru some good luck in Financial planning,,, I do not need to work ,...  Between investment $$ - Social Security, and a small Pension - we get by just fine.,..   In South Carolina - You can get a Fishing License for like $9 - yep Nine Dollars - oh and that's for Life !  ....    50 % off my State parks pass - do the $99  is down to under $50...   Our tax bill for the House is 2% less cause we are now both over 65....  so yea - its the little things.....

But - the aches and pains are real - Knees . Feet, Back,  all creak and groan when I move,...   I can't see worth a shit to read anything without glasses,,,,  Texts, directions (when I read them ) are all just a blur w/o the lenses.....  you also get to worry about health things asd you get older - Heart , Brain, Cancer , Dementia , oh yea - now we got fun !!   Is that pain in your Shoulder / Chest-ick-al area a muscle strain from Pickleball or the start of a massive heart Attack ?!?!?!   

Where is this going - I have no idea,,,jsut wanted to think about something other than politics for a few minutes....

Watched most of Football game last night from Cleveland ,,,  Steelers and Browns - but it was played mostly in the Snow and freezing rain - didn't care about the Score - but seeing it played in the Outside in that weather was great !!!    

Can I mention things that are different here in the South than in the North

- The amount of Dogs (and some cats) that are found ....I gotta believe that they are being just dumped by monsters that have no soul or heart...   some do get out and then are returned to their owners - but most - I think are not.

- No Inspections on Automobiles mean that any thing no matter how bad - as long as it runs can be on the road,... Oh yea....

- The Center lane is Left Run lane for both directions and is an active accident waiting to happen. 

- Foods sold at Walmart that I have never seen and in some cases heard of. 

- The amount of Confederate Flags.  and folks thinking that the Civil war was the  "War of Northern aggression". 

- What seems to be outright Hatred - from some people -  for those that have relocated here from the North. Even though in many cases those throwing the shade make a living based on the influx of people - Carpenters , electricians, etc etc 

- I'm sure it everywhere but - driving by Houses (if you can call them that) that cannot possibly be lived in - only to see lights on inside the house. and cars in the driveway.. ugh...

- Figuring out that "Bless your Heart" is not a compliment

 - Every Restaurant offers you  a "TO GO " cup of whatever (non alcoholic) beverage you were drinking with your meal....

- the number of cars that do not have Directionals - or maybe its folks don't use 'em

- The amount of Churches !   Amazing - and the number of people that go there on Sunday's ..  and a prayer being said at the start of some events - like Pickleball tournaments - A Prayer ..... 

- Pedestrians  crossing many roads. even 4 lane - busy ass roads - like they are in a Game of FROGGER !

- Signs I do not understand - like What is DEER CORN ??  

- realize that everyone owns and is probably Carrying a GUN....

- Seeing houses that Do NOT have Air conditioning... 

- Fields of Cotton .... 

Only thing that makes any Sense to me,....

 As the Insanity continues with each new Cabinet Nominee (Linda McMahon for Education) - Yea - her experience mostly in professional Wrestling,,, I can only think two things are going on here.

#1- he is choosing people that worship at the Alter of the Orange Jesus - the Law and Constitution be damned - they will bend the knee and kiss the Ring. They will blindly follow his direction, SO 100% Loyalty - don't care about their Expertise or Qualification for the Job. Or even Criminal Background - as he has more than hinted he does not want Background/FBI checks done - and not have the House's investigation into Gaetz case become public. He might even look at SA evidence (Gaetz & Hegseth) , Trafficking & drug use evidence as a Positive .

#2 - Testing the Loyalty of Republican Senators - Anyone NOT voting for or even Questioning his Candidates will see Tar & Feathers and they and their family better be ready to get drug thru the mud.

161 years ago

 On this date 161 years ago - the President of the United States traveled with his Secretary of State - William Seward, from Washington to a small cross roads town in Pennsylvania.  The President was invidted to give some "appropriate remarks " at the dedication of tht Union cemetery. They invited him after they realized that there would be 18 or so Governors but, thee invitation made it clear that they had a keynote speaker - Edward  Everett who was considered to be the Best Speaker in the Land - a Clergyman, former governor , educator , Congressman  - Everett was to give the main address.  

Seward wanted to travel to Gettysburg on the 19th - but Lincoln said - no , I know how these thing work - we will go the day before. Lincoln stayed at the home of David Wills . Wills was a principle driver to getting the Cemetery at Gettysburg built.  By the way - Lincoln was the only person to get a room to himself , even Edward Everett had to share - although the story is that Everett locked out his room mate so tht he could have a room to himself....   

It was in the Wills home that Lincoln completed his address . 

The Cemetery was completed -  the bodies moved from the Battlefield to the Cemetery (mostly by freed slaves )  -  and Union soldiers only I might add.    The Design of the Cemetery was laid out in a semi-circle around what is the soldiers monument. The design meant to show that no one soldier - regardless of rank , wealth , etc was more important than any other soldier - Equal .  Laid out by State and then a section of Unknown.  

Odd fact - that today (added many years later ) there is a marker from Kentucky near  the Soldiers monument with the Gettysburg address in bronze - Odd -  because Kentucky did not send one unit to fight for the Union in the Battle of Gettysburg,   

BUT - Kentucky is the birthplace of the both Abraham Lincoln, and Jefferson Davis . 

At the Base of the Soldiers monument is a plaque from Kentucky.

There is this memorial to Lincoln, with his bust and the address  near the entrance to Cemetery, but thats not where he gave the speech,....  

There is the rostrum at the National Cemetery  where several Presidents have spoken Hayes, Teddy Roosevelt, FDR, Coolidge, Eisenhower, BUT Not Lincoln.....

Lincoln spoke from a platform that was constructed  back near the border of what is the Evergreen Cemetery and the National Cemetery.   There is a fence there now ,  that separates the Cemeteries - note THAT fence came from  Lafayette Square in Washington D.C., which is located near the White House.

Th person nominated for to run the Department of National Intelligence has supported Dictators and Autocrats across the Globe,  siding with the Likes of Putin, and Orban and against our Nato allies, and is - in some circles thought to be a Russian operative. 

One of the 2 people that has been tapped for D O G E - Department of Government Efficiency - that man is the Richest person on the planet and has billions of dollars at stake in government contracts that HE will now be able to affect in his role - and the other is a DEI hire that the GOP has been screaming about  being against,.

And a weekend FOX entertainment host with some military background in the Army reserve,  but has been in NO leadership position in the Military - and has said that women do not belong in Combat roles and that “In the military, our diversity is not our strength".  It has come out since that he was under investigation for Sexual assault of a 17 year old. 

and a Person nominated for Homeland security that bragged about shooting a Dog (and a Goat)  to death  because the dog was not serviceable . 

And next VP said of the  POTUS elect  and I quote “I go back and forth between thinking Trump is a cynical asshole like Nixon who wouldn’t be that bad (and might even prove useful) or that he’s America’s Hitler,”

Here are the Stages of Grief - and I belive that If you read stuff on this subject - they do not happen in any convenient order - they just happen when they happen....

I can say that I am in an overlapping section of Anger and Depression ....  I got thru denial - although I have a hard time believing - even after a week that the ASSHOLE won...  Like I have stated that so many people voted against their own best interest.  

So I am now in the depression mode - can't make sense of it.,,, and  not sure what to do About it....  and as more and more news comes out about Cabinet choices and  positioning the new administration - I am even more depressed,,,,, more angry at what we (YOU) have done.  I still don't believe that All Y'all are that stupid to think that a monster like Steven Miller is the best guy to have leading the Charge for the MAss Deportation effort... or That a Weekend Host on FOX entertainment - Hegseth - is a great pick for Secretary of Defense,...  Noem for Homeland Security .....  Jesus Christ . what the F is gonna happen with these people leading agencies for which they have no Fucking clue....

and why hasn't Trump Signed the Transition agreement - two Words - Ethics Clause  ! Why is this NO Surprise to ANYONE !!!

Profound Sadness & Disappointment

 

  I'm off the news for while, maybe its now   maybe Apathy - resignation is setting in ,,,  but I have had enough of hearing any news about the Mango Mussolini....  I am more worried about this country today than ever... I won't be around to see  it - I hope - but my kids and grandchildren will be ....and we just taught the Children many lessons ...and  if you don't think they are paying attention - then YOU aren't paying attention 

- Mocking disabled people is cool

- Never Apologize

- Never admit you are Wrong

- Calling people names - cool

- Science Is just Stupid 

- Empathy is for losers

- Be afraid of anyone that is not White

- Cheating is acceptable

- Bullying people is good fun

- Stealing - especially from Charities - is OK

- Reading - A Waste of time

- Attacking Dead people - Just fine

- Distorting the truth to fit our lies is absolutely  normal behavior

- Always - Always blame others

- Always take credit when there is Credit due. 

And  - I am done with the RED HATs.   I can only hope  that our  greatest Fears are not recognized. That people did not just vote for their own Demise...  and I think what has disturbed me the most - after a few days to think about it - is that this is 100% exactly the Opposite of how I (at least  I think) have tried to live and the Values that I have tried to teach my children - Ok I was not the greatest parent but I did do a few things right... and Empathy, Equality, helping those less fortunate, obeying laws were all part of what I think my life has been - and now to understand that more than 1/2 the country does not agree with that is a bit devastating.  

1st - While NOT a Conspiracy theorist - How can 15 Million fewer people have voted in this election compared to 2020 ??   Plus  - There are Approx 262 Million people of voting age in this country - and 144 million decided to vote   - so 120+ million did not Vote ?? WTF ....  One of the actions that I may need to take is to leave the South and move back North - back to where  - ok it will be colder - it will also be to a Blue state that will be more supportive and align better with what I think.  I know here where I am - its very RED - the Politics of the area align better with the RED hats than with me..... and that at some point soon - it might mean a move out of here.... Hell - they guy 6 houses away from me  flies a Confederate Flag and under it - a version of an American Flag with the Orange Jesus riding a Velociraptor. 

That those mothers with Daughters and Granddaughters - voted to take away rights that these women have. What happens when  their Physicians in the RED states start asking women / children  of child bearing years about their cycles  and their travel plans - especially traveling to a Blue state ,...  and their Doctor denys prescribing them any Birth control or hospitals deny life saving medical treatment.   I hope its not my relatives or yours but it will be and has already been someone Wife/Daughter - go Google  "Candace Fails" . Reports yesterday of School age boys taunting girls with chants of "Your Body - My Choice" - who these young men are and who their parents are -  don't know but when you elect a Serial Abuser and Known Rapist - you get what you get ... and woman across the internet advising others to get a passport  and drivers lisc that the photos and names match, make a plan for Birth control and perhaps even think of moving to place where their rights will be protected... . And you realize that the Billionaires got their taxes reduced while you are actually paying more - The End to tax on TIPs  means Millionaires will start to define their Compensation as A Gratuity instead of a Salary so as to avoid income taxes.   NO - Can be - 

When you see what cozying up to dictators means in real life -  and watching NATO struggle to keep Putin at bay (after we have pulled out) - while he takes over Ukraines lands and starts in on other countries unchecked. Belarus - Poland, Estonia and Latvia are now in his crosshairs = but F them. Are they Americans - hell no -  Who cares.. 

When you see broadcast networks go off the air and Journalists that won't Toe the POTUS line barred from access to press events and even arrested . - and those that remain parrot one message - the Governments. 

When we have taught our children that - Being a bully is ok- making fun of a person with disability is cool.  Threatening people with violence is a winning strategy - that the Fear of Brown and Black people is the AMERICAN WAY - that anyone that does not look like us or think like us or love people like us - are the Enemy Within  and need to be swept away at all costs.

When the 1st opponent of the Government is arrested  and  Jailed for speaking out.  be that a senator , Congressman, Journalist, etc.,....  but F them - they aint real Americans.   

Do you think that it is normal  when you hear about Governors and Attorneys Generals in many so called Blues states  say that have been making plans to protect the rights of  citizens of those states from the Federal Government  - WHAT ?!?!?  ...  but hey are they REAL Americans - NAH - Fuck them.  

Is it Normal to see and hear other countries  Parliaments and Legislatures developing plans to deal with a Trump presidency  ... that places where we have our military stationed across the globe questioning the Safety of their  own country - when we have Nuke capable war ships and Missiles so close or in their countries that are in the Control of. a MADMAN - .   RE: Scotland, Finland, Australia, etc -  COme on that can't happen - ummm see WWII 

Companies are raising prices NOW in anticipation of having to pay the Tariffs that will be levied on goods they are importing -  and how ever you think Tariffs work - they are not paid by a Foreign Government ,  they are PAID by the person or importer that brings those goods into the Country. Right now most pay 2% or less - some even Zero Percent.   - How the hell  can the US tax other countries ?!?!?!?!   OH - the THEY -  are gonna move their operations from a Foreign country to the US -  Oh really- two of the biggest importers of Goods into the US are ...   you guessed it - Walmart and Target .... so - hold the phone..   you think that Walmart and Target are going to build factories in the US to produce the Goods that they  now import - you are a special kind of STUPID.
