I  ordered - so to speak - a pair of Jeans thru EBAY - I don't use that site much anymore. I used the Make and offer on a pair of Jeans - that were 28.95 Plus $8 in shipping - the seller had lots of clothes items for sale so I took a shot at $20 offer with still the $8 shipping and they accepted it..   a week later I recied the jeans in the mail - tried them on - washed them and ok - done deal ...   two days later ... I get another pair of jeans in the mail  - same size and yes - Levi's black jeans . WTF !??   How can that be - I double check my ebay purchases and there is only the one pair - the last thing I got from EBAY was a Remote for a Sound bar. then the Jeans....  the bag with the 1st pair is gone - in the garbage - so I cannot see of they came from the same person -  but how weird is that - and then to add to it - as I'm sitting on the couch investigating the jeans purchase - the kitchen faucet turns on - the faucet has a hands free feature where you kinda wave at the left side and it turns on/off - that used to happen in NY when the cats walked in front of it, - but not here - and there was no cat -   Incidents related or just coincidence???

It has come to my attention that I am - surprisingly enough - the same age as OLD PEOPLE...

When the hell did this happen ??   I don't feel  old.,  I listen to Rock music,, I am pretty good with today's technology - I Know that WHY FI is not a question....   I see people and interact with people that I think are older than me  and shit - it turns out that - in conversation - I find out that I am older then THEY ARE....

They mention when thy graduated  High-school -  and I hear 1978 -  1980,.....  versus My 1974....  

I look in the mirror and I do see an oler man - heck I am 17 months from being 70 years old - SEVENTY..

Now - are there any good things that come with this - well  - sure ... I retired a few years ago and thru some good luck in Financial planning,,, I do not need to work ,...  Between investment $$ - Social Security, and a small Pension - we get by just fine.,..   In South Carolina - You can get a Fishing License for like $9 - yep Nine Dollars - oh and that's for Life !  ....    50 % off my State parks pass - do the $99  is down to under $50...   Our tax bill for the House is 2% less cause we are now both over 65....  so yea - its the little things.....

But - the aches and pains are real - Knees . Feet, Back,  all creak and groan when I move,...   I can't see worth a shit to read anything without glasses,,,,  Texts, directions (when I read them ) are all just a blur w/o the lenses.....  you also get to worry about health things asd you get older - Heart , Brain, Cancer , Dementia , oh yea - now we got fun !!   Is that pain in your Shoulder / Chest-ick-al area a muscle strain from Pickleball or the start of a massive heart Attack ?!?!?!   

Where is this going - I have no idea,,,jsut wanted to think about something other than politics for a few minutes....

Watched most of Football game last night from Cleveland ,,,  Steelers and Browns - but it was played mostly in the Snow and freezing rain - didn't care about the Score - but seeing it played in the Outside in that weather was great !!!    

Can I mention things that are different here in the South than in the North

- The amount of Dogs (and some cats) that are found ....I gotta believe that they are being just dumped by monsters that have no soul or heart...   some do get out and then are returned to their owners - but most - I think are not.

- No Inspections on Automobiles mean that any thing no matter how bad - as long as it runs can be on the road,... Oh yea....

- The Center lane is Left Run lane for both directions and is an active accident waiting to happen. 

- Foods sold at Walmart that I have never seen and in some cases heard of. 

- The amount of Confederate Flags.  and folks thinking that the Civil war was the  "War of Northern aggression". 

- What seems to be outright Hatred - from some people -  for those that have relocated here from the North. Even though in many cases those throwing the shade make a living based on the influx of people - Carpenters , electricians, etc etc 

- I'm sure it everywhere but - driving by Houses (if you can call them that) that cannot possibly be lived in - only to see lights on inside the house. and cars in the driveway.. ugh...

- Figuring out that "Bless your Heart" is not a compliment

 - Every Restaurant offers you  a "TO GO " cup of whatever (non alcoholic) beverage you were drinking with your meal....

- the number of cars that do not have Directionals - or maybe its folks don't use 'em

- The amount of Churches !   Amazing - and the number of people that go there on Sunday's ..  and a prayer being said at the start of some events - like Pickleball tournaments - A Prayer ..... 

- Pedestrians  crossing many roads. even 4 lane - busy ass roads - like they are in a Game of FROGGER !

- Signs I do not understand - like What is DEER CORN ??  

- realize that everyone owns and is probably Carrying a GUN....

- Seeing houses that Do NOT have Air conditioning... 

- Fields of Cotton .... 

Only thing that makes any Sense to me,....

 As the Insanity continues with each new Cabinet Nominee (Linda McMahon for Education) - Yea - her experience mostly in professional Wrestling,,, I can only think two things are going on here.

#1- he is choosing people that worship at the Alter of the Orange Jesus - the Law and Constitution be damned - they will bend the knee and kiss the Ring. They will blindly follow his direction, SO 100% Loyalty - don't care about their Expertise or Qualification for the Job. Or even Criminal Background - as he has more than hinted he does not want Background/FBI checks done - and not have the House's investigation into Gaetz case become public. He might even look at SA evidence (Gaetz & Hegseth) , Trafficking & drug use evidence as a Positive .

#2 - Testing the Loyalty of Republican Senators - Anyone NOT voting for or even Questioning his Candidates will see Tar & Feathers and they and their family better be ready to get drug thru the mud.

161 years ago

 On this date 161 years ago - the President of the United States traveled with his Secretary of State - William Seward, from Washington to a small cross roads town in Pennsylvania.  The President was invidted to give some "appropriate remarks " at the dedication of tht Union cemetery. They invited him after they realized that there would be 18 or so Governors but, thee invitation made it clear that they had a keynote speaker - Edward  Everett who was considered to be the Best Speaker in the Land - a Clergyman, former governor , educator , Congressman  - Everett was to give the main address.  

Seward wanted to travel to Gettysburg on the 19th - but Lincoln said - no , I know how these thing work - we will go the day before. Lincoln stayed at the home of David Wills . Wills was a principle driver to getting the Cemetery at Gettysburg built.  By the way - Lincoln was the only person to get a room to himself , even Edward Everett had to share - although the story is that Everett locked out his room mate so tht he could have a room to himself....   

It was in the Wills home that Lincoln completed his address . 

The Cemetery was completed -  the bodies moved from the Battlefield to the Cemetery (mostly by freed slaves )  -  and Union soldiers only I might add.    The Design of the Cemetery was laid out in a semi-circle around what is the soldiers monument. The design meant to show that no one soldier - regardless of rank , wealth , etc was more important than any other soldier - Equal .  Laid out by State and then a section of Unknown.  

Odd fact - that today (added many years later ) there is a marker from Kentucky near  the Soldiers monument with the Gettysburg address in bronze - Odd -  because Kentucky did not send one unit to fight for the Union in the Battle of Gettysburg,   

BUT - Kentucky is the birthplace of the both Abraham Lincoln, and Jefferson Davis . 

At the Base of the Soldiers monument is a plaque from Kentucky.

There is this memorial to Lincoln, with his bust and the address  near the entrance to Cemetery, but thats not where he gave the speech,....  

There is the rostrum at the National Cemetery  where several Presidents have spoken Hayes, Teddy Roosevelt, FDR, Coolidge, Eisenhower, BUT Not Lincoln.....

Lincoln spoke from a platform that was constructed  back near the border of what is the Evergreen Cemetery and the National Cemetery.   There is a fence there now ,  that separates the Cemeteries - note THAT fence came from  Lafayette Square in Washington D.C., which is located near the White House.

 So - the person elected POTUS is a convicted Felon - and was under indictment in several other Jurisdictions for Election tampering, and taking Classifies documents out of the White House. 91 Felonies total. 

The person nominated for Attorney General was under investigation for Human Trafficking, and Having sexual relations with a Minor. 

The Person that is nominated for Health and Human Services is an Anti Vaxxer and Conspiracy Theorist with NO Medical or Health related Background. 

Th person nominated for to run the Department of National Intelligence has supported Dictators and Autocrats across the Globe,  siding with the Likes of Putin, and Orban and against our Nato allies, and is - in some circles thought to be a Russian operative. 

One of the 2 people that has been tapped for D O G E - Department of Government Efficiency - that man is the Richest person on the planet and has billions of dollars at stake in government contracts that HE will now be able to affect in his role - and the other is a DEI hire that the GOP has been screaming about  being against,.

And a weekend FOX entertainment host with some military background in the Army reserve,  but has been in NO leadership position in the Military - and has said that women do not belong in Combat roles and that “In the military, our diversity is not our strength".  It has come out since that he was under investigation for Sexual assault of a 17 year old. 

and a Person nominated for Homeland security that bragged about shooting a Dog (and a Goat)  to death  because the dog was not serviceable . 

And next VP said of the  POTUS elect  and I quote “I go back and forth between thinking Trump is a cynical asshole like Nixon who wouldn’t be that bad (and might even prove useful) or that he’s America’s Hitler,”

Stages

 

Here are the Stages of Grief - and I belive that If you read stuff on this subject - they do not happen in any convenient order - they just happen when they happen....

I can say that I am in an overlapping section of Anger and Depression ....  I got thru denial - although I have a hard time believing - even after a week that the ASSHOLE won...  Like I have stated that so many people voted against their own best interest.  

So I am now in the depression mode - can't make sense of it.,,, and  not sure what to do About it....  and as more and more news comes out about Cabinet choices and  positioning the new administration - I am even more depressed,,,,, more angry at what we (YOU) have done.  I still don't believe that All Y'all are that stupid to think that a monster like Steven Miller is the best guy to have leading the Charge for the MAss Deportation effort... or That a Weekend Host on FOX entertainment - Hegseth - is a great pick for Secretary of Defense,...  Noem for Homeland Security .....  Jesus Christ . what the F is gonna happen with these people leading agencies for which they have no Fucking clue....

and why hasn't Trump Signed the Transition agreement - two Words - Ethics Clause  ! Why is this NO Surprise to ANYONE !!!

As president, Trump repeatedly came under fire from ethics groups for potential conflicts of interest relating to his businesses and brands. Both Trump’s and his family’s foreign business ties have also come under intense scrutiny throughout his time in office and on the campaign trail.

Trump and his transition team are already behind in accessing key transition briefings from the Biden administration, as they have failed to sign a pair of agreements to unlock critical information before taking over the federal government in 72 days.

The holdup revolves in part around the mandatory agreement over ethics issues.
